Censored

I listen to the radio and the most ridiculous words are being censored. Words like gun, g-string, drunk, tipsy, mosseltoff, names of various alcoholic drinks, and loads more. You get the picture. But I find this happens only on malay radio stations. English radio stations don't censor as much. Why is that? Do they think that by not letting people hear bad words they won't do bad things? If that's the case, how come there are liquor shops, bars and gambling spots all over the place? Not to mention how easy it is for anyone to buy a pack of cigarettes. But then if they don't censor these words, you can bet some parents will complain that their children are exposed to negativity. Parents, if you don't want your child exposed at all to negativity, don't let them out of the house, don't let them read the papers, don't let them watch TV or listen to radio! The best a parent can do is let it be, but educate the child. These same parents who complain about the bad stuff their kids are being exposed to will most probably tell the child this is not good, that is bad, you shouldn't say this, you shouldn't do that, but not explain to child why. Why this why that. If they don't know why they shouldn't, they won't be able to justify to themselves. Because mom and dad said so is just not a good enough reason. Such restrictions not only won't make the child a better person, they'll probably even make it worse. So the censorship board shouldn't take all the blame, I suppose.

One More Week!

Another week to go till I start studying again. My dreams are almost coming true! I'm so happy! I can't wait to start, but I'm a little bafraid. I haven't studied since May! Will I be able to adjust myself? New place, new friends. I don't really care about fitting in since I never really do, but I'm just worried about coping.Oh the excitement. My heart beats faster just thinking about it.

I Am Now...

...on my way to being a journalist!

It turns out that the results I checked for degree intake was actually for those who have already graduated and gone through convocation. The results for my batch (Final Year Diploma) only came out on 16 December, a month after the results which I checked earlier. I checked again the other day and my name was there after all! So I'll be back to school in a few weeks. WooHoo!

WooHoo!

So I see it's been almost a month since my last update. Well, let's see what is there to say. I'm working at the moment in an office position at ESSO Taman Permata, AU5, Lembah Keramat. I don't do cashiering unless I'm really needed. All I do is Accounting. Well, Counting actually. Anyone in the area are welcome to come visit. I'm assuming pigs have started to fly since my dad and Belle Mere actually agreed to lend me her car while waiting for my car's insurance and road tax to be settled can you believe it? Big surprise there. I thought my dad would rather send me and pick me up then let me drive the car. Next on the list, my dad's WSH car heheh.

The other day I went to the bank. Behind me were these three people. They were having such a loud conversation. I could hear everything they were saying. One of them just arrived from UK, one of them has been living here for some time and is working as a teacher. Another one, the teacher's husband studies overseas but comes back here every holiday. The last time he came back was more than a year ago. They have a son and a daughter, and the daughter is allergic to dust and cats so the mother got rid of all the down pillows and changed all sheets. The father just discovered this since he hasn't been back for so long. The one who just arrived form UK is the guys mother. She's still deciding whether or not to move to Malaysia so she came on her own without her husband. So far she likes it here and may move in. If she decides to move, she wants to find a house somewhere quiet (at this point I almost interrupted to suggest Sg Penchala). Who needs TV huh?

I watched New Moon the other day at GSC 1 Utama. I'm warning you right now, if you plan to watch it there, and the show at the time you plan to watch it is showing in Cinema 13. Do not, I repeat DO NOT go for that show. Look for a time when it's showing in Cinema 2. I watched it once, and some part in the middle started blurring like a bad quality pirated DVD, then the screen went blank, then it skipped straight to the last part. It completely missed out the fighting scene in Italy (not too much of a spoiler is it?) which was the scene I really wanted to watch. Who doesn't love watching vampires getting beaten up? Then I watched it again the next day, guess what? Same cinema, same thing. Except that this time it didn't blur, it just skipped. And I got to see 2 minutes more than what I saw the first time.

By the way, in case you were wondering, yes, I'm working, and yes, I'm doing this on the computer I'm supposed to be doing work on. Don't tell my boss.
