Good Ol' MJ

I want to join in the fun of MJ blogging. I remember the day I heard he passed away. I was driving to work and heard on the radio. I was very shocked. It took quite a while for the news to register. I couldn't believe my ears.
I'm not really a die hard MJ fan, but I remember really loving his Thriller album. I watched the laser disc over and over again and sang along with all the songs. At that time I think I was about 5 or 6..maybe younger. My favourite songs were Thriller, Beat It, Smooth Criminal, Billie Jean and What About Us..and let's not forget Ben.
I didn't care so much for him when he turned white though. And then he started doing all that surgery and I liked him even less. So, I shall remember him for when he was black and great.
Nobody knows for sure if he really did die a muslim. If he did, Alhamdulillah. Wallahu'alam.

You Know You're Addicted When...

  • When hanging out with friends, instead of laughing, you say LOL, LMAO or ROFL

  • Before saying hello to a friend, you say BUZZ! first while shaking their shoulders

  • When entering a room, you make a tingtong sound

  • Before making any emotion expressions, you tilt your head to the side first

Don't Judge A Book By Its Cover

This is something I try never to do, but you know how it is. Sometimes certain people just make certain impressions on you. I'm sure you've experienced this before. When you see a person, and for some reason or another you just don't like that person even though you don't even know them. Anyway, my story today is about one such person. A person I've never met, but have only heard her voice. I used to not really like her at all. I don't remember why. I think it was because I thought she sounded gedik, insincere..plastic, you know. Then, one day, I got to know her better. As it turns out, she's a very nice person, and a very good friend. She told me her story, of how she came to be where she is now, and I respect her just that much more. When I knew the hardships she had to face for such a long time, I felt I understood her. I emphathized with her as she told me her story, and as I come to understand her more, I realize what a valuable friend I've gained.

    The Time Is Here!

Finally I get to use my Mooncup. So far, so good.

Considering I've never used a tampon or any other thing that has to be stuck up my "ehem" before, I found it quite easy to insert. I found that the punch down fold (this is when you push one finger down on a side of the cup to form a sort of spouted end) works better for me than the C-fold (fold it in twice to form a C shape). It took me only a few minutes. At first, I didn't get the opening quite right and kept missing, but after I identified the correct position of the opening, it went in nicely on the first try. I was afraid that it wouldn't pop open, but as soon as it got in, it popped open perfectly. The silicone is soft enough to be gentle and easily inserted, but firm enough to hold its shape. One time I accidentally let go of the base of the cup, causing it to pop open from the fold and bounce away to the bathroom door. Then, when it was in, I pushed it up just enough so the stem (which I already trimmed when I first got it) wouldn't poke at the skin. Although I think it didn't properly form a seal, because I was walking around just to get the feel of it and suddenly felt a ploop inside and felt it go slightly up..I suspect the moving around caused it to move and seal itself (which is kinda cool). I walked around the house and when I was satisified, I lay down. I rolled around and moved here and there, and moved as I pleased. I didn't feel a thing! I would never have felt such freedom with a pad. With a pad I had to be so careful and everytime I got up I would check if I had stained anything.

On to removal. Removal was a bit more difficult. I removed it just before I went to bad so it wouldn't be full when I wake up. It took a few tries to get it out. I pushed down with my inner muscles until it went down low enough, but I couldn't get a grip on it and I couldn't seem to push it any further, so I pulled firmly but slowly at the stem which was already out until I could get a grip on the base of the cup (this required some poking into the "ehem" because the cup just wouldn't reveal itself), and squeezed it to remove the seal. Then with a "ploop" I wiggled it out slowly so the contents wouldn't spill. Must I elaborate on the contents ? I think not. Heheheh. Then I flushed the contents into the toilet, washed the cup with intimate wash, and reinserted it.

All in all, it was a very fascinating experience, and very liberating. I would definitely recommend menstrual cups to women of the world. Better for our convenience, for our pocket, and for our world. But make sure it lasts!

    Mooncup

WARNING : EXPLICIT CONTENT. MEN MIGHT HAVE TO SKIP THIS POST TO AVOID EMBARASSMENT AND KNOWING MORE THAN WHAT THEY WANT TO KNOW.

My Mooncup came in the mail today..I had it mailed to the office and my dad brought it back for me. He was so curious as to what it was, he insisted on me opening it in front of him. Of course I wouldn't...that would be very embarassing. Can't wait for my next period! Unfortunately I just finished my last one so can't use it yet. At first I didn't want to get it, but I was so annoyed with my pads that I got it anyway. What convinced me was that I had such difficulty sleeping because the pad made me itch so bad even though I changed it just before bed. So, I decided I must have an alternative. So here it is!

I went to KLCC today. My sister offered to buy me a brand new blazer for work. Yeay! Thanks so much! I love the blazer..it just shouts CAREER WOMAN.
