This Friday I'll be on a ferry to my husband's homeland. I'm so excited and yet so nervous. I've never met my in-laws even after a year of marriage, so it's quite nerve-racking. I can't wait to see what his homeland is like.
The other day I realized that his visa expires on the 16th of February, so we had to renew it before we left so that when we come back we could just pick it up. If we do it after we get back, we would have to pay an extra RM100 because it wouldn't be ready in time.
Yesterday, we went to the Immigration Office at Pusat Bandar Damansara, only to discover that it has moved to Jalan Duta. Luckily we didn't have to pay for parking as we only went in for a few minutes. Parking there is really expensive! So we went to Jalan Duta to find it. Since we didn't know exactly where it was, I stopped at a taxi stand to ask the taxi drivers where it was. It turned out that it was the building next to the taxi stand. By that time it was 3pm. We wanted to go in the morning, but my husband wasn't feeling well after three days of fever, so we waited till after lunch. We went up to the office, filled in some forms, then we were told that we had to have it stamped by the Commissioner of Oaths. I remembered that I saw one when we were taking photos for the forms, so we went down, but then the Commissioner had gone back. At the time it was 3.30pm. Because we wanted to have it done on that day, we asked where we cold go, and the guy said that we could have it stamped at the Mahkamah Syariah next door, so we walked there. It was about 10 minutes away as we had to go downhill and back uphill. When it was stamped, we hurried back to the Immigration Office and found that the counter to take numbers was already closed. So now we have to go back there on Thursday morning before my husband goes to work.
I hope it all goes smoothly on Thursday so we can go back in peace.
